01/14 online lab:comics examples

The Wormworld Saga is essentially a long picture that keeps scrolling with text attached and obvious text to go with. I like how you are able to freely scroll through the comics and read the text and view the images at your own pace. The Sequel You Later by Norm Comics was sweet and short and to the point but it was a little too fast. I know that YouTube gives you the option to pause and scroll through videos at a slower pace but it didn’t give me the same effect as the first comic did. I loved how in “The First Night” by Crimson Fly the images moved! They reminded me of gif’s and i loved how the youtube was in more of a slide transition format instead of just abruptly going to the next graphic. It was a bit fast just like I said in the previous comic presented on YouTube. The Better Call Saul comic is one I enjoyed thoroughly! It is what I pictured a comic book being and looking like. It looked vintage to me and the images and text were clear and vibrant. I also noticed the texture they added to the images that also made me think about how it fit the “model” of what a comic looks like to me. It definitely used the side medium effectively and I think they did a great job on the layout. In the Self-Driving Issues comic I was so confused! I don’t read comics and never have taken the time to even attempt to so I was all over the place on this one. Especially with the option of “random” where it would give you random pages of the comics. I was confused on how you were supposed to read the story, like is there an order? In Girls With Slingshocks I was not a fan of the layout. The comic was all the way at the top and the stuff on the bottom made it disorganized and seem confusing as to what I was supposed to be reading. I noticed this comic went backwards? I was not a fan of that. I believe that all of these sources most definitely needed an artist and someone who is able to transform this art into digital art. They also needed media experience to be able to create the website and/or video that is displaying their comics.
